Description

CC-24. Continental Currency. February 17, 1776. $2. PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ.
No. 56839. Signed by W. Coates and J. Williams. Printed by Hall and Sellers, Philadelphia, 1776. As one might expect from a note graded 67 EPQ/PPQ by both services, one can study this note for ten minutes and see nothing that could be improved. The boardwalk margins are broad and visually equal on all four sides, the print resolution is absolutely perfect being neither too light nor too dark, the inked serial number and signatures are razor-sharp and clear, the paper is wholly original and a lovely shade of off-white. The threshed grain emblem on the front, and nature print of strawberry and filbert leaves on the back are rendered with astonishing clarity. Simply spectacular in every respect! Needless to say, this note sits alone atop the Pop Reports of both services and is certainly the finest known. We are certain the new owner will not be disappointed in this one. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $15000.00- $25000.00
