1929-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar. MS-63 (PCGS).
A richly original example with speckled olive-russet and apricot toning to satiny, smooth-looking surfaces. Trailing only the 1933-S, the 1929-S is overall the second most available San Francisco Mint half dollar of the 1916 to 1933 era. As with its identically dated Denver Mint counterpart, the onset of the Great Depression kept many examples from being released until the mid 1930s, by which time the coins were desired by numismatists and speculators. For collectors seeking an attractive Mint State type coin from the early Walking Liberty series, this 1929-S would do nicely.
