1872 Indian Cent. Proof-65+ RB Cameo (NGC).
A thoroughly PQ specimen, more Red than Brown, with minimal muting to warm medium rose-apricot color. Field to device contrast is superior for both the type and issue, and with expert surface preservation, there is much to recommend this dazzling Proof Indian cent to discerning numismatists. From a mintage of approximately 850 to 1,100 Proofs, high grade survivors such as this are rare in their own right and enjoying heightened demand in today's market given the scarcity of the circulation strike 1872 cent in premium Gem Mint State.
