1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-157, B-5. Rarity-2. EF-40 (PCGS).
Evenly toned in light to medium silver-gray, this pretty piece also reveals iridescent champagne-gold, pale pink and powder blue undertones as the surfaces dip into a light. The detail is bold throughout with plenty of sharper definition remaining to the more protected design elements. A nice lightly circulated type coin from this historic early U.S. Mint series. BB Die State I, a rarity in light of Q. David Bowers' (2013) comment, "May not exist without reverse crack."
PCGS# 6878. NGC ID: 24X7.
