SYRIA. Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos VIII Grypos, 125-96 B.C. AR Tetradrachm, Antioch on the Orontes Mint, ca. 109-96 B.C. NGC Ch EF.
HGC-9, 1200; SC-2309.2D. Obverse: Diademed head right; Reverse: Zeus Nikephoros seated left; two monograms to outer left, monogram below throne; all within laurel wreath. A pleasing example with crisp detail and elegant cabinet toning. Some warmly toned luster remains in the fields. A spot of dark green corrosion is noted on the reverse.
