GERMANY. Medallic Issues. Nuremberg. Gold Medal of Ducat Weight, 1717 (in chronogram). NGC AU-58.
Brozatus-915; Erlanger-2334; Whiting-228. By P. H. Mueller. Diameter: 21mm; Weight: 3.5 gms. Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Reformation. Obverse: Cloaked bust of Martin Luther right; Reverse: Man advancing left in a field, sowing seeds. A fairly SCARCE and seldom seen Reformation type, this example displays hardly any evidence of handling and retains a high degree of lustrous brilliance.
