AEGINA. AR Stater (12.14 gms), ca. 480-457 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5.
HGC-6, 435; SNG Cop-507. Obverse: Sea turtle, with head in profile and "T-back" design on shell; Reverse: Large square incuse with skew pattern. Quite dazzling and enticing, this example presents a very charming turtle that is tremendously centered upon the pleasingly toned flan. As such, a specimen that should generate a great deal of enthusiasm.
