This note was secured by cotton and private property of the shareholders and promised that it was "Redeemable in Gold within Six Months after the Raising of the Blockade of our Coast." Between 1862 and 1864 the price of cotton skyrocketed thirtyfold. Printed on the backs of an 1855 railroad bond. PMG notes "Previously Mounted," but still quite scarce at this grade level.
