1864 Two-Cent Piece. FS-401. Small Motto. AU-55 (PCGS).
Although close to 20 million two cent pieces were struck in 1864, a time when most U.S. coins were hoarded, only a tiny percentage of the production constituted the Small Motto subtype. The smooth surfaces present attractive brick-red and tan colorations, and there are no mentionable carbon spots or other distractions. Worthy of a premium bid.
