Fr. 152. 1874 $50 Legal Tender Note. PMG Very Fine 25.
All $50 Legal Tender Notes are extremely scarce if not rare, and this bright 1874 type is always well received by collectors. The large "L" Roman numerals at left and right are quite appealing, and make the 1874, 1875, and 1878 issues visually distinctive. This example exhibits great quality for the technical grade. Strong inks throughout give great clarity to the famous Ben Franklin portrait vignette at left, as well as to Liberty as Columbia at right. PMG comments "Minor Repairs."
