1752 Franco-American Jeton. Compagnie des Indes Occidentales. Lecompte-112b, Betts-387 var. Silver. Reeded Edge. MS-63 (PCGS).
28.8 mm. 7.24 grams. Coin alignment. A popular addition to the Betts series, muling the reverse of Betts-384 with the obverse of Betts-387, a combination seen often enough to wonder how Betts missed it. With handsome pewter-gray patina to lustrous satin surfaces. Boldly struck. Survivors from these dies usually appear with significant handling and this one is nicer than most.
