T-6. Confederate Currency. 1861 $50. Very Good.
No. 3002, Plate B. Richmond. Produced by the Southern Bank Note Company. An often elusive early 1861 type, offered here in Very Good condition. Justice is seen at left, allegorical Agriculture & Industry at center and portrait of Washington at right. Penned on the back is "Issued 16th Sepr 1861" and below that we cannot determine what the period writing is. This note has been restored, with backing tape noticed on all edges (to repair damaged corners, edge/margin wear, etc). Annotations are seen on the reverse.
