Westerly, Rhode Island. $10 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 480. The National Niantic Bank. Charter #823. PMG Very Fine 20.

One of two 1882 Brown Back $10s from the National Niantic Bank of Westerly, this almost perfectly centered, well-margined example is quite nice for the grade and issue. The "Foreign Substance" mentioned by PMG is a small area in the lower right portion of the front, but is well-hidden by the vignette. PMG comments "Foreign Substance."
