Providence, Rhode Island. $20 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 495. The American NB. Charter #1472. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.

An exceptionally fresh, nearly perfectly-centered note with legitimate claims to a higher grade, we can detect almost no evidence of circulation. Offered twice about 20 years ago in the XF-AU range, we are somewhat at a loss to explain the 35 grade. Only one other 1882 Brown Back $20 appears on the Census, and is without question inferior to this lovely example. Easily one of the most attractive notes in the sale.
