Butler, Missouri. $1 Original. Fr. 382a. The Bates County NB. Charter #1843. PMG Choice Fine 15.

A First Charter Ace from this small Bates County MO community that hosted three issuers over the years, notes from this bank are effectively the only ones available. While the note presents quite well, the red overprint has faded and PMG notes some minor repairs. The paper has toned to a pleasing light tan, and the signatures are light but fully visible. This note realized $3,220 at its last sale in April 2006. PMG comments "Discoloration, Minor Repairs."
