MEXICO. Mint Error -- Overstruck on Three Different Bonded Planchets -- 20 Pesos, 2019-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-66.
KM-unlisted. 500th Anniversary of the founding of Veracruz commemorative. A completely abnormal mint error that is likely the result of mint sport. Combining an aluminum-bronze 20 Pesos outer ring, Peso planchet, and what is likely the copper-nickel core from a 10 Pesos planchet, the resulting 'Frankenstein' error appears bimetallic on the obverse and trimetallic on the reverse. The latter two planchets were stacked vertically within the 20 Pesos ring, placed in the camber, and fused together after being struck. No doubt an EXTREMELY RARE piece that will garner ample attention from serious collectors due to its novelty and dramatic appearance.
