Obverse: Charioteer, holding whip and reins, driving quadriga left; nude participant standing left in quadriga, with hand over breast and holding palm frond and billowing cape; Reverse: Fame, with head right and holding palm frond and trumpet, standing facing on globe. Edge : Plain. A SCARCE and exceptionally alluring early representative for the modern Olympic Games, with the 1908 games being held in London. Compare to a similar, fully silver example in our 2014 NYINC auction (lot # 2161), which realized a hammer of $2,200.
