FRANCE. Napoleon III & Eugenie/Palace of Industry Copper Medal, ND (1855). Paris Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-66.
Divo-257. By Caque, Manguin & J. Wiener. Diameter: 49mm. Obverse: Conjoined bare heads left of Eugenie and Napoleon; Reverse: Interior perspective view of the Palace of Industry at the 1855 World's Fair in Paris. Edge : [hand] CUIVRE. Incredibly enticing and alluring, this glossy chocolate brown medal features a great rendition of the imperial couple as well as a very intricate architectural scene on the reverse. Given the ambitious nature of the reverse, it should come as no surprise that it was done by Jacques Wiener, as he and his brothers are famous for their extensive series of architectural representations in medallic form.
