CARIA. Islands off Caria. Rhodes. AR Didrachm (6.81 gms), Aristolochos, magistrate, ca. 275-250 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.

HGC-6, 1437; SNG Keckman-490. Obverse: Radiate head of Helios facing slightly right; Reverse: Rose with bud to right; torch to left, ΑΡΙΣΤΟΛΟΧΟΣ above. An excellent facing head type, this stunning specimen features a particularly bold nature to the obverse and a deep cabinet tone.
