ITALY. Lucania. Thourioi. AR Stater (Nomos) (7.85 gms), ca. 400-350 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5. Graffito.

HGC-1, 1260; HN Italy-1800. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Bull butting right; in exergue, fish right; all within incuse circle. An enchanting and fairly charming example, with little handling and some alluring hints of brilliance remaining in the fields.
