EGYPT. National Bank of Egypt. 1 Egyptian Pound, 1899. P-2b. PMG Very Fine 30.
Printed by BWC. Signature of Rowlatt. Only a dozen notes have been graded by PMG at the time of cataloging for this variety. This note is currently tied for Top Pop with two other notes. Dark red/yellow ink comprises the underprint on the obverse, whilst jet black ink makes up the bank title at top, counters at left and right and ornate designs below. The reverse displays intricate lathe work, with the design being comprised of dark brown ink. Incredibly rare, and this appears to be the first time we have offered this type in our lengthy auction history. PMG comments "Ink." PMG Pop 3/None Finer.
