Description

CANADA-NEWFOUNDLAND. Government of Newfoundland. 1 Dollar, 1920. NF-12d. PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ.

St. Johns, Newfoundland. Signature combination of C.F. Renouf and H.J. Brownrigg. From the 1920 "Treasury Note" issue. Depicted at left in an oval portrait is King George V, and a deer's head is found at right in dark blue ink. At center is an intricately lathed design with a "1" counter at center in jet black ink. The bank name is at top center in a stylized gothic font. The design on the reverse of the note is found in a dark blue ink, with arms at center, an early steamship at left braving rough seas, and an anchor next to a coastline at right. Scarcely offered in this grade level, especially with PMG's all-important EPQ qualifier.
