KM-T5; Mars-BTD1; Prid-9 var. (regular date). Overdate variety. Despite the 1900/000 convention of rendering this type, only the 9 appears to be over a prior 0, with the final two digits in the date presenting normally. Pleasantly toned and very lightly handled, thus a charming example of this intriguing type. Compare to a similar piece, a PCGS AU-58, that realized a total of $9,600 in our Fall 2021 Hong Kong auction (lot # 20183).
