1921 Pilgrim Tercentenary. MS-67+ (PCGS). CAC.
A splendid satiny Gem, attractively toned with blue, gold, crimson, and violet all vying for dominance at selected border areas. Although 20,053 examples were originally issued, PCGS has certified specimens as MS-67+ on only 10 occasions since that service was established nearly 2-1/2 decades ago, a figure that averages out to less than one grading event per year. PCGS has certified just 1 example above the MS-67 level, that being an MS-68. This was issued to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock near Cape Cod. The raised letter "D" by William Bradford's elbow, is the initial of the designer Cyrus E. Dallin, rather than a Denver mintmark as some collectors may suppose.
