Inscribed, in black print, NATIONAL UNION TICKET. / (cut of American Flag) / FOR PRESIDENT, / ABRAHAM LINCOLN, / OF ILLINOIS. / FOR VICE PRESIDENT, / ANDREW JOHNSON / OF TENNESSEE. / FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTORS, / GEO. L. WOODS / HUGH N. GEORGE, / JAS. F. GAZLEY. Quite a rare document recommending the election of one of our greatest presidents, made all the more evocative by the following handwritten message on the reverse: I VOTED THIS TICKET 8TH NOV. 1864 AND CONSIDER IT ONE OF THE BEST AND MOST IMPORTANT ACTS OF MY LIFE. G. H. SPENCER. A Lincoln memorial poem, apparently cut from a newspaper, is glued to the backing below the ticket.
