1796 Liberty Cap Cent. S-81. Rarity-3. Fine-15 (PCGS).
An impressively smooth and crisp example with a bold strike and unusually nice surfaces. Glossy steel-brown and light olive, the toning even and attractive across both sides. Totally devoid of marks and only a few tiny natural planchet pits can be found in the fields. Better struck than many of the variety with a bold ONE CENT on the reverse and reasonably sharp detail on the portrait as well. Excellent quality for a 1796 Liberty Cap cent.
PCGS# 1392. NGC ID: 223V.
