Deep steely-copper patina blankets both sides of this mid grade, early date large cent. A few minor marks in and around the centers are well within the context of the assigned grade, the major design elements retaining plenty of bold striking detail where allowed by die state. The reverse is microscopically rough, the obverse smoother, and neither side reveals any singularly mentionable blemishes. A desirable example of both the type and die pairing at the NGC Choice VF grade level. Breen Die State IX.
