1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.19-Z.2, W-3650. Rarity-5. Draped Bust Left. AU-55 (PCGS).
Glossy surfaces with rich chocolate-brown color and traces of mint frost through the legends. Both sides are free of marks and are hard and smooth except where some weakness of strike on the effigy's hair and lower seated figure left behind some slightly rough natural planchet texture. A remarkable example of this scarce die pair that is among the finest we have offered. This piece compares favorably with the Ford, SLT, and Newman coins which are the best examples of this Miller number to come to auction in recent decades.
