Description

1652 Oak Tree Shilling. Noe-1, Salmon 1-A, W-430. Rarity-3. IN at Left. EF Details--Repaired (PCGS).

69.30 grains. Plenty of sharp detail remains throughout the design on both sides of this rather appealing piece. The eye appeal is certainly superior to what one might expect for the assigned grade, both sides retoned nicely in a blend of rich steel-olive and deep pewter-gray. The reverse is well centered, the obverse drawn toward 5 o'clock with the lower right border through the tops of the letters. Curiously matte-like in texture, the surfaces show evidence of tooling to further explain the PCGS qualifier. Noe-1 is one of the more obtainable die varieties of the Oak Tree shilling, examples popular for type purposes at all levels of preservation.

PCGS# 45361. NGC ID: 2ARK.

Estimate: $3’000.00
