Cr-544/10; CRI-373; Syd-1238. Legionary issue. Obverse: Praetorian galley right; Reverse: Aquila between two signa; LEG XVII CLASSICAE above. One of the more difficult legions, this type features the legion's name above the central design on the reverse, rather than in the lower field. Some striking weakness is noted near portions of the peripheries, but it nevertheless remains well struck in other areas, with problem-free surfaces and a great cabinet tone.
