SYRIA. Phoenicia. Arados. AR Tetradrachm (16.70 gms), ca. 246/5-168/7 B.C. NGC EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5.

HGC-10, 61. In the name and types of Alexander III (the Great) of Macedon. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; palm tree in left field; below throne, monogram below strut; uncertain civic date in exergue. A fairly well centered and attractive Alexander-style issue, offering a pleasing tone and very little wear overall.
