Columbiana

1892-1893 World's Columbian Exposition Award Medal. By Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Charles E. Barber. Eglit-90, Rulau-X3. Bronze. Choice Mint State.

76.3 mm. The tablet on the reverse inscribed to the recipient WHITE CHAPEL / CRAFT SCHOOL. Uniform deep chocolate-brown surfaces are beautifully preserved by the original ornate aluminum case of issue. Both the exterior and blue velvet interior of the case are also nicely preserved with no blemishes of note. The Columbian Exposition award medal is widely recognized as one of the finest medallic portraits of Christopher Columbus ever produced. (Total: 1 medal; 1 case)
