CHINA. Brass 700 Yuan Pattern, 1981. NGC PROOF-68 Ultra Cameo.

KM-Unlisted. Diameter: 33mm. Bronze Age Discoveries. Type I. Changxin court lantern. An EXTREMELY RARE and quite possibly UNIQUE pattern issue that emanates from a remarkable series of such patterns that we are offering for the first time. This represents the only such example seen at NGC, with none having been seen at PCGS. This design was ultimately selected for the silver 5 Yuan type struck in 1992 [series 2] (KM-460). Exceptionally vibrant and radiant, this captivating example is largely free of any blemishes--a few lightly scattered spots on the obverse being all that stands in the way of an even higher designation.
