Utica, New York. Bank of Central New York. 1850s. $5. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Spurious Proof.

(NY-2775 S10) Danforth, Bald & Co., New York & Phila. India paper only. Top center, two horses flanking shield surmounted by eagle and scroll. Left end, woman's head left with FIVE on it, train below in oval frame. Right end, helmeted woman's head left at center of fancy end panel. An interesting series and note. Defined as a Spurious type, but here it is in Proof. This example is brilliantly printed and broadly margined.
