Capped Bust Half Dollar
1818 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-109. Rarity-1. MS-63 (PCGS). CAC.
A noteworthy example of the date and variety with impressive technical quality and originality. The surfaces are fully lustrous beneath a layer of gray-green and gold toning that spans both sides, somewhat irregular in areas. The reverse also features some lively rose, golden-orange, and blue toning at the peripheries. No marks of any consequence, quite smooth for the grade level. Boldly struck as the stars and curls are full, as are the feathers on the eagle and the tiny central leaf veins.
