MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Antigonos I Monophthalmos, as Strategos of Asia, 320-306/5 B.C. AR Drachm (4.19 gms), Magnesia pros Maiandros Mint, ca. 318-301 B.C. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.

Pr-1970. In the name and types of Alexander III (the Great). Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; monogram in left field and below throne. Well centered and struck, this captivating example presents tremendous shimmering luster as well hardly any evidence of time in circulation. A great deal of eye appeal is abundantly clear.
