Description

Tiberius III, 698-705

TIBERIUS III, 698-705. AV Solidus (4.46 gms), Constantinople Mint, 3rd Officina. NGC MS, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5. Brushed.

S-1360. Obverse: Crowned and cuirassed bust facing, holding spear and shield decorated with soldier on horseback motif; Reverse: Cross potent set upon three steps; Γ//CONOB. One of the more difficult types, this example presents tremendous brilliance and luster all while also offering a very detailed portrait. Just a hint of off-centering and striking weakness is noted on the reverse, and the noted brushing is virtually non-existent.

Estimate: $800.00- $1200.00
