Description

Lucius Verus, A.D. 161-169

Stunningly Flawless Denarius of Lucius Verus

LUCIUS VERUS, A.D. 161-169. AR Denarius (3.40 gms), Rome Mint, A.D. 166. NGC Ch MS, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 5/5.

RIC-557; RSC-129. Obverse: Bare head right; Reverse: Pax standing left, holding branch and cornucopia. About as perfect as one can possibly achieve in the world of ancients, this stunning specimen presents an entirely argent appeal and fully blazing cartwheel luster. The strike is quite sharp and bold, while the reverse in particular is very well centered and appealing. It is difficult to imagine the lengths to which one may have to go in order to encounter another example as impressive as the present specimen.

Estimate: $500.00- $750.00
