ITALY. Bruttium. Kroton. AR Stater (Nomos) (8.21 gms), ca. 530-500 B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.

HN Italy-2078. Obverse: Tripod, with legs surmounted by wreaths and terminating in lion's feet, two serpents rising from the bowl and between feet; crab to right; Reverse: Incuse tripod as obverse, but wreaths and serpents in relief; crab to right. Well centered and struck, with just a hint of light toning near the peripheries. A fairly large die crack is noted on the obverse, running from the crab to the border below.
