Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle
1909-D Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. MS-63 (PCGS).
A frosty and smartly impressed example with pretty rose-orange patina to both sides. The 1909-D was produced to the extent of just 52,500 pieces and, while several hoards from foreign bank holdings have greatly augmented the supply of Mint State examples in recent decades, this issue remains scarce by Saint-Gaudens double eagle standards.
