Lec-3. 3rd Issue. Obverse: Bus driving right, THE CHINA GENERAL / OMNIBUS CO. / LTD. in three line inscription; Reverse: J.D.S in cursive script. Pleasing quality with near full brilliance remaining over the surfaces. Established in 1922 (some sources cite 1924), the China General Omnibus Co. LTD was a British-owned company that was registered in Hong Kong, but exclusively served the Shanghai market. It was founded by J.A. Fredericks with J.D. Shatler as General Manager, whose signed initials make an appearance on the cent denomination of the company's third series of issues.
