SCOTLAND. Scotland - Mexico. Lanarkshire. Glasgow. 4 Shillings 9 Pence, ND (ca. 1803-09). PCGS VF-35 Gold Shield; Countermark: VF Details.
KM-CC49; Manville-46. Issued by Thistle Bank. Bi-facial Countermark: 4/9 within solid boarder surrounded by "Thistle Bank"; Reverse: Thistle sideways pointing left. Applied to the center of a 1801-MoFT Mexico Bust 8 Reales of Charles IIII (IV). The countermark is boldly applied, though slightly uneven, with clear definition of the details. A handsome example from this popular series displaying medium grey tone combined with mild slate patina amongst the devices. An original looking and problem free example with good eye appeal certain to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
