GREECE. Phoenix, 1828. Aegina Mint. Ioannis A Kapodistrias. PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield.
KM-4; Geo-4; Divo-1; Chase-191-A-a. Purported mintage: 11,978. An attractive and nicely preserved example of the first silver coin of modern Greece. The coin exhibits a bold even strike with light signs of wear primarily on the high points consistent for the grade. This classic Greek issue displays attractive light grey tone amongst the devices complemented by a medium grey in the open areas and atop of the devices. A wholesome survivor of this popular issue with a nice look certain to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
