CANADA. Bank of British North America. 1 Dollar, 1852. CH #55-14-16-02. PMG Good 6.
Toronto, Ontario. An albeit well traveled yet incredibly scarce Charter Bank note. PMG's pop report lists this note as the sole example encapsulated by their grading service. The Charlton Standard Catalog of Canadian Bank Notes reports that until this notes existence, no privately known notes have been recorded. The note displays portrait vignettes of Queen Victoria at left and Prince Consort at right, with the bank name above a crest at center. A faint watermark of "Bank of British" is seen at top with "North America" seen at bottom. Typical issues for this grade level.
