Satin to semi-reflective surfaces are warmly and evenly toned in autumn-brown. Anthon served as president of the American Numismatic Society on three occasions: April 25 to May 9, 1867; March 26, 1868 to March 24, 1870; March 27, 1873 until his death on June 7, 1883. Mintage for the Anthon medal is 85 examples in bronze, along with 15 silver impressions.
