Description

Mary (1553-54), silver Groat, crowned bust of Queen left, mint mark pomegranate both sides, legend with annulet stops surrounding, MARIAo+o Do Go ANGo FRAo Zo hIBo REGI’o, beaded outer border both sides, rev. quartered shield of arms on long cross fourchée, legend surrounding, VERITA S+ TEm PORIS FILIA, weight 2.07g (N.1960; S.2492). Toned, a little weakly struck on Queen’s neck and shoulder but with good facial detail, good very fine.
