George V (1910-36), gold Sovereign, 1925, bare head left, B.M. initials on truncation for engraver Bertram Mackennal, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP:, rev. St. George and the Dragon right, WWP under broken lance for Master of the Mint William Wellesley Pole, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled, 8.00g (Bentley 364; Marsh 220; S.4003). Toned with minimal wear but generally flat surfaces, almost extremely fine.

Calendar year mintage 4,406,431.

The Latin legend translates as "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India".
