Description

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Shilling, 1893, old veiled head left, T.B. below for engraver Thomas Brock, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA. DEI. GRA. BRITT. REGINA. FID. DEF. IND. IMP., rev. three emblematic shields of England, Scotland and Ireland with rose, thistle, and shamrock intertwined within garter, HONI. SOIT. QUI. MAL. Y. PENSE, beaded circles with denomination ONE SHILLING and date surrounding, edge milled, 5.59g (Bull 3153; ESC 1361; Davies 1011; S.3940). Toned with a slight subdued golden hue, graded by NGC as MS64.

NGC Certification 6675018-013

Calendar year mintage 7,039,000.

The Latin legend translates as “Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Empress of India.”
