George IV (1820-30), silver Crown, 1821, laureate head left, initials B.P. for Benedetto Pistrucci below, legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D:, rev. St. George and the Dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue, initials WWP on ground line below lance for William Wellesley Pole, edge inscribed in raised letters and dated, DECUS ET TUTAMEN. ANNO REGNI SECUNDO*, 28.26g (Bull 2310; ESC 246; S.3805). Attractive dark blueish toning, proof-like brilliance underlying, with the slightest wear to highest points and light hairlines, graded by NGC as AU58.

NGC Certification 6674855-005

Calendar year mintage 438,000.

The Latin legend translates as “George the Fourth by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith.”
