Victoria (1837-1901), silver Shilling, 1887, young head left, no W.W. on truncation, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:, rev. inverted die axis, denomination ONE SHILLING in two lines at centre of crowned laurel and oak wreath, date below, edge milled, 5.64g (Bull 3080; ESC 1349; S.3907). Lightly toned with some surface marks around details, otherwise about extremely fine.
Calendar year mintage 4,034,100.
The Latin legend translates as “Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith.”
